What is Martyns Law?
Martyn’s Law is a piece of legislation that aims to ensure public premises and events are better prepared for terrorist attacks. This legislation is aimed at any premises that is wholly or mainly used for one of the purposes listed in the Act - such as retail, education, healthcare or worship - and reasonably expect that at least 200 individuals may be present at the same time, at least occasionally, will have to comply with Martyn’s Law.
Come and find out from Figen Murray (Martyns mother) and learn about the implications for your organisation and what you need to do to meet the legislation.
This FREE event will be delivered by subject matter experts from Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) and will include advice, guidance and updates on the work that police and partners are doing to mitigate the terrorist threat. You will gain a valuable insight into Martyns Law and understand the requirements set out in the legislation, whilst also being informed of free training opportunities for you and your organisation. This is also an excellent networking opportunity.
A light lunch and refreshments will be provided. If you have any dietary requirements, please email NYCSP@northyorks.gov.uk
