This highly practical training will provide everything you need to know about interviewing,  helping you get that bioscience PhD studentship

<p>A PhD interview is a precious opportunity to make a positive and memorable impression. Thorough preparation is vital, and that means working on style as well as content. The way you conduct yourself, present ideas and respond to questions has a powerful influence on the way you are perceived.    </p><h3>Masterclass:</h3><p>This <strong>highly practical training</strong> will provide everything you need to know about interviewing, including delivering a presentation.  Importantly you will get to try some techniques out yourself in a <strong>very supportive and fun setting</strong>.  The best way to learn is to learn by doing! </p><p><strong>It is no secret that many find interviews daunting and attending this course will enable you to take that one step closer in achieving the best out of yourself.</strong></p><p>Topics covered: </p><ul><li>Principles of effective interviews and presenting </li><li>Managing nerves and performing with confidence </li><li>Achieving physical and vocal presence </li><li>Engaging the interview panel </li><li>Achieving clarity and impact </li><li>Responding convincingly to questions </li></ul><h3>Followed by overview of PhD interviews in the biosciences and Q+A with the SWBio DTP:</h3><p>For the final half an hour, you will hear about the different types of PhD interviews you could encounter as well as an opportunity to ask members from the SWBio DTP (refer below) anything you want to know about a bioscience PhD interview.</p><h3>Registration deadline: Midday, Fri 26th November</h3><h3></h3><h3><em>About the SWBio DTP</em></h3><p><em>This workshop is provided through the BBSRC-funded South West Biosciences Doctoral Training Partnership in collaboration with VOX coaching.
