Paper folding allows us to create beautiful mathematical art and see mathematical concepts in a new light. In this webinar, Fran and Alison will share some of their favourite mathematical objects created using modular origami, and teach you how to fold modules which can be put together to explore symmetry, geometrical reasoning, factors, and many more aspects of mathematics. During the webinar, there will be the chance for you to fold along, and share your creations with other participants. Fran and Alison are both former maths teachers and experienced presenters whose passion for origami shines through whenever they have paper in their hands. Whether you are a teacher looking for ideas to bring mathematics alive in your classroom, a student with a flair for creativity with paper, or someone with a general interest in maths or paper folding, this webinar will have something to offer you!The webinar will be hosted on Zoom. if you can’t join us live, or if you’d like to watch the webinar again, we plan to make a recording available for a week after the event.Audience: This webinar is for anyone who would be interested in learning how to make some mathematically interesting modular origami models. It will be of particular interest to maths teachers who are looking for some ideas about using paper folding in their classrooms and how to use origami as a tool to enhance their teaching of mathematics. The only previous origami experience you need to join this webinar, is being able to fold a square in half accurately corner to corner, edge to edge.Cost: The tickets will be working on a &#x27;pay what you can&#x27; basis. The recommended ticket price is £8 but we don&#x27;t want this to be a barrier to anyone who would like to participate, so please feel free to give us just a quid or two if that&#x27;s what you can afford.By signing up, you agree to behave respectfully and appropriately during the webinar.
