MCAA Career Advancement and Interdisciplinary Networking day for Researchers at Bielefeld University

Have you been thinking about building a scientific career and taking the track for tenure? Have you ever been interested in a conflict-free and independent working environment at universities?  Have you ever wanted to communicate your own scientific ideas and research in an exciting and entertaining way to a diverse audience and be judged by the audience?  Or, If you are a senior researcher and would like to share your experience with the rising researchers... you are at the right place.

Don’t miss the chance to participate, meet and join MCAA German chapter fellows and experienced researchers to learn about scientific career, conflict-free universities, migration trends and more. The event is an opportunity for all of us to network, gather and slam, aiming to bring doctoral students and early postdocs together on 07th June 2019 13:00 CEST. Places are limited to the total number of 20, so please register now.


The event will host a Science Slam, which is an exciting chance to let researcher shine in 3 Minutes performance. It is an opportunity to slammers to compete for winning the audience attentions and applause. Do not forget to register for the Science Slam, it is open to all participants. We are looking for 10 scientists to enlighten by knowledge and slam - First Come First Served.

The Head of the doctoral program "Doctor of Public Health" (DrPH).

Prof. Dr. Roland Langrock
A member of the Tenure Board and a speaker of the interdisciplinary Centre for Statistics (Zentrum für Statistik, ZeSt) at Bielefeld University. 

Claudia S. Dobrinski
A writer and editor, is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History, especially Medieval Archaeology, at the University of Paderborn and the president of the German National Association THESIS - Interdisziplinäres Netzwerk für Promovierende und Promovierte e.V.

13:15 - 14:00    Claudia S. Dobrinski: "Clearing posts (conflict management and the like) at the German universities: Independent, well-trained and broad-based?"

14: 00- 14:45   Roland Langrock, Prof. Dr. : "On track for tenure – thoughts on building a scientific career".

14:45- 15:30   Alexander Krämer, MD, PhD, Professor : "Refugee migration to Germany - Recent trends and health concepts"

15:30-16:00   Coffee break and Networking

16:00- 17:30   Science Slam (Total number 10 Slammers)

18:00- 21:00  Dinner outside university (expenses are paid by the participants)
