Welcome to Community Roots from Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Trust. We have a wide-ranging digital offer, and you can also attend our courses in person at either our Preston or Burnley centres.We offer an engaging and revolutionary curriculum, designed and developed alongside people with lived experience of mental ill health and professional experts. We also work alongside a wide range of community focused organisations across the county to bring you the very best local health & wellbeing opportunities.We aim to bring you learning opportunities that have a positive impact on your health and wellbeing. Recovery College is a non-clinical approach that recognises the importance of lived and professional experience in creating accessible and engaging learning opportunities.We believe in recovery for all, supporting one and other whilst challenging the stigma associated with mental ill health. ME/CFS Peer support session<ul><li>Do you or some-one you care for have a diagnosis of ME/CFS? </li></ul><ul><li>Our peer support sessions aim to bring people together to share experiences, tips and to get involved in activities as a group.</li></ul>Come and join us at the Recovery College@Deepdale site, next to the Minerva Health Centre on Thursday 26th of January from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. The session will also be available via MS Teams for anyone who would like to attend online.ME/CFS, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is aneurological condition which affects a patient both physically and cognitively. The main feature is persistent physical and mental fatigue, which differs from normal tiredness.This condition is considered under the Equality Act 2010. It has also been classified as a long term neurological condition. ME/CFS affects people in different ways and no two people experience the illness in the same way. It is not adequately relieved by rest and is usually out of proportion to the activity undertaken.Lancashire Recovery College provides a learning service that works alongside experts by experience and professionals by experience, to co-produce courses that enhance wellbeing and social opportunities in your community.This co-produced course has been developed and will be delivered alongside people who truly understand and can share their lived experience. We believe this approach captures the true values of recovery Hope, Opportunity and Control.*This course is run online through Microsoft Teams. There is no requirement to have Teams pre-loaded onto your device as this should download automatically when you click on the link provided. All of our courses are available to anyone over 16, please get in touch with us if you would like to attend courses and you are younger than 16, we may have other opportunities available in the near future.
