MEDEA INSIDE is a hybrid adaptation of Euripides' most famous tragedy focusing on the concepts of suffering, imprisonment, and violence.

Theatre director Dionysia Bouzioti with her dedicated ensemble and music composer Vasilis Georgakopoulos created a must-see online film exclusively remotely. Initially destined to be staged, this low-budget home-filmed gem of postmodern textures, original sound, and great suspense is not to be missed!Based on Euripides&#x27; atrocious tragedy, Medea Inside is a powerful esoteric adaptation that experiments with the concepts of staticity and conflict. The director uses different forms of performative narratives to portray Medea&#x27;s emotional journey as embodied by three women. The Chorus stands as Medea&#x27;s reflection, while the film draws parallels with our recent (or current) reality of imprisonment and isolation, as well as the increase of domestic violence against women during the extended lockdowns. Available to diverse audiences! The production does not use speech to communicate, but body presence and movement as a universal language. *The research for this project has been funded by the University of Leeds until February. All company members have not been paid for an entire year. Filmmaking costs and the marketing campaign were covered by the director. Any donations would be highly appreciated to cover the costs and keep us going.
