<h1>Join us for a two-day hackathon dedicated to accelerating the flow of medication information across health and social care systems to improve patient safety. </h1><h3>Summary</h3>Two days of testing and developing connections and capabilities using the recently published <a href="https://simplifier.net/guide/hl7fhirukcorer4release1/home" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">FHIR UK Core medication standards</a> to improve the safe and secure flow of medication information across health and social care systems. All hack participants are encouraged to present the work of their team in the afternoon of Day 2 (see Post Hack Presentation Session below). Collaborators on the &#x27;winning&#x27; hack project will be invited to present a demo of their solution to Senior Leaders at NHS X.<h3>Objectives</h3>This event has been designed to accelerate development against the <a href="https://simplifier.net/guide/dosesyntaximplementationguidanceforfhirr4/home" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">FHIR Interoperable Medicines Standards and Structured Dose Syntax guidance</a>, enabling patient medication information to move seamlessly between care providers including primary and secondary care, ambulance, social care, and creating a patient-centred consolidated medication record.The aim is to develop system functionality and workflows that will aid the adoption of FHIR medication resources to support the consistent transfer of prescribed and dispensed medication information across all care settings. Developers will be invited to come together to construct a single, shared, consolidated view of a patient’s medication record in order to improve safety and efficiency of the drug prescribing and administration process. <h3>Themes</h3>We’re keen to build on our previous learning for using FHIR medication resources and dose syntax to tackle the challenges of flowing medications information. The themes of the Learn and Hackathon will therefore cover the following:- EPS Next Generation- Transfers of Care (admissions &amp; discharge) including GP Connect- UK Core Resources (following recent curation sprints)- dm + d vs SNOMED- Moving information into, out of and between ePMA systems- Patient-Centred Medication Record (as part of the Shared Care Record)<h3>Who should attend </h3>Implementation leads, software engineers, developers, product support analysts, implementation consultants, interface managers, product owners, or those in similar roles who are interested and able to contribute to the development of solutions. We also encourage participation by those with insights from the frontline, so clinicians and other providers of care who would like to get involved.<h3>Preparation </h3>In keeping with INTEROPen values, all interested parties are invited to take part in planning calls which take place every Thursday at 8 am. Each hack team will have the opportunity to present and run a short demo of what they have achieved over the two days. The session concludes with an audience vote for the &#x27;most impressive&#x27; hack.
