    Sign up for these fantastic workshops with expert Tanya Bentham, and learn the techniques used to create the spectacular embroideries of the 14th century!


    One-day workshops - £80 each, including kit
    Wednesday 29 May or Saturday 22 June, 10am to 4pm
    Learn the techniques of laid and couched works, as used in the Bayeux tapestry, to create your own embroidered medieval beastie using naturally dyed wool threads. This class is suitable for all levels.

    Saturday 20 July, 10am to 4pm
    The underside couching stitch was pivotal to the spectacular opus anglicanum embroideries of the Middle Ages but it is a tricky stitch to master. Come and create your own underside couching sample from the mistress of this technique!


    Two-day workshop - £125, including kit
    Wednesday 18 to Thursday 19 September, 10am to 4pm
    Learn how to use filament silks to create a 3D effect, and underside couching for added bling by creating your own opus anglicanum face in this two-day course.
