Meditation Foundation Course

St Mary's Church HallFrome, England
Monday, Jan 12, 2026 from 7 pm to 9:30 pm GMT
Overview

Full reality living. Experience the world vividly and be resourced to meet our turbulent times.

Part 1: 6 Mondays, 12 January - 16 February 2026

Profoundly transformative for our hearts as well as minds, Part 1 focuses on instruction in two essential and far-reaching meditation practices: the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Development of Loving Kindness (Metta Bhavana). These practices from the Buddhist tradition encourage a direct and complete engagement with what is really happening in our lives. They encourage focus, clarity, relaxation, confidence, and opening the heart, and give us the tools for a more resourced and vivid life
With time for instruction, practice and discussion, you will be supported with handouts and in setting up a home practice.
To be led by Dhammadassin and Sthiramitra, members of the Triratna Buddhist Order.

Follow on course:

We will use the practices learned in Part 1 to help us locate and deal with what gets in the way of a more direct, complete, vivid and resourced contact with our experience. Opening up to our own deep potential, we can find and build more inspiring, absorbed and effective states of mind.
