The role of health economics in a global pandemic - lessons  learnt from COVID-19

We are delighted to announce the third annual Methods for the Economic Evaluation of Diagnostics (MEED) Research Forum, which will run online (via Zoom) on Friday 24th September (hosted by Newcastle University). Once registrated, a link to the Zoom room will be sent by email 24hrs in advance of the event.The COVID-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented global attention onto the role and value of diagnostics for clinical decision making. In this year&#x27;s MEED Research Forum, we will be exploring what impact the field of health economics has had in this setting, and how, going forward, we can continue to respond to the evolving issues the pandemic presents. By bringing together health economists and related methodologists actively involved in the evaluation of diagnostics, this event aims to facilitate the development of methods and research in this area. This year we will be running the event as an online morning workshop, which will include a series of talks on empirical research in the field, followed by a group panel discussion.
