10.30 –  Dr Alberto Sposito (Oxsensis): ‘Optical sensors for the aerospace industry'
11.00 –  Professor Jane Hart (Faculty of Social Human and Mathematical Science, University of Southampton) 'Mountain Sensing'
11.30 –  Professor Matt Mowlem (Head of Ocean Technology and Engineering, NOCS) title tbc
12.00 –  Buffet lunch and refreshments
Session 2
13.00 – Dr Christopher Holmes (Faculty of Physical Sciences and Engineering, University of Southampton): 'Sensing in the pharmaceutical industry'
13.30 – Professor Jorge Fliege (Faculty of Social, Human and Mathematical Sciences, University of Southampton): 'Sensing and big data’
14.00 –  Geraint West (Sonardyne): 'The challenges of deep ocean data'
14.30 – Tea/coffee break
Session 3
14.45 –  Divide into groups - discussions/brainstorming (on sessions 1&amp;2)
15:05 –  Plenary discussion to share group thoughts
15.15 –  self-grouping discussions based on the interests/topics coming out of the first discussion session
15.35 –  Plenary discussion to share group thoughts
15:45 –  Wrap up and way forward
