Experience Event: Video Games, Animation & VFX

Want to break into the games industry? At MetStudios Berlin, part of BIMM University, we make sure our students experience life as game developers and game artists from the very first week. If you’d like to see and experience this for yourself, come join us at the MetStudios Berlin Game Jam - a week-long event making games, having fun collaborating, eating pizza and living the game dev life!


Event Info

  • When - Monday, 9th March to Friday, 13th March 2026
  • Times - from 10:00 - 17:30 CET.
  • Location - BIMM University Berlin (Revaler Str. 99), Rooms: Pixel 1& Pixel 2, at House of Music, Berlin
  • Limited spots available – Max. 10 external participants (plus our 11 games students).
  • Game jam kick off: Monday, 9th March 09:30 CET.


What to Expect:

  • A safe space – A place where everyone can feel welcome and safe. No matter if you’re an introvert or extrovert, we’ve got each other’s backs.
  • Lots of fun making games
  • Collaborations - you’ll team up with our BIMM-students to create a digital game or a board game.


Special Extras

  • Opening masterclass with award-winning game developer ALISTAIR AITCHESON – IndieCade, A MAZE Award, PLAY Hamburg, POCKET Gamer Awards, Develop Magazine 30 Under 30 -, who has been creating and self-publishing games since 2010.
  • A full week of tutorials and creative cues from Alistair Aitcheson.


Guidance and Support

  • BIMM-lecturers coming by regularly to support the Game Jam participants with art, design and technical issues.
  • BIMM-staff present all the time.
  • No experience required: Beginners welcome! No programming or prior experience is required (though it’s always welcome!)
  • Creative collaboration: Work in teams on digital games or board games.
  • Networking & inspiration: Connect with students across disciplines and spark new ideas.
  • Food: Pizzas, refreshments, ice-cream and snacks provided!
  • Theme: The theme will be announced at the start of the event.
  • Closing ceremony – the games produced will be showcased and played on Friday afternoon. We will celebrate with tacos and drinks at 3 pm. Feel free to invite your parents!


ATTENTION: This event requires commitment and participation throughout the entire week, from Monday to Friday. Registration doesn't automatically grant participation. Applications will be reviewed and spots offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to games applicants for 2026.


BIMM University Berlin will issue a letter for all participating high school students, providing official justification for their involvement in the game jam at their school.
