Overview

serpentine.iii presents: DuoVona + MAYNFRAME Quintet

You are cordially invited to a special musical performance in Fitzrovia Chapel on 27th May from 6pm - 9pm. Exploring themes surrounding the cyclic nature of life and death and the profound mystery of it all, the evening will begin with a selection of modern guitar duos, including both original and arranged works for guitar, and the world premiere of a brand new piece by Zahrah Hutton inspired by ethereal drum and bass.

The evening will conclude with Schubert's profound final hour-long chamber work, the Cello Quintet a work which, completed only two months before the composer's death, represents a young genius at the peak of his powers looking his own mortality in the eye and translating it into a piece of music that is both heartbreaking and entirely life-affirming.

The evening will also feature Set Design and Dramaturgy by Purdey Williams.
