Event description

Description

Journeys Festival International and Leicester Lo-Fi invites you to join in free, hands-on Polaroid Lift workshops on Saturday 23rd June as part of our MIGRATE programme of events during Refugee Week 2018.

Discover the fragility and translucency of Polaroid Lifts, as you transfer a Polaroid image onto new surfaces in these fun, crafty sessions which are perfect for families and those interested in lo-fi photography. These workshops are open to all ages and abilities.

We will run the sessions from 11am to 2pm. Participants can opt to stay for as long as they would like. Though booking is not essential, we encourage you to secure your place to guarantee not to miss out!

MIGRATE will be presented at Lightbox Gallery, LCB Depot from Monday 18th June to Saturday 23rd June.

Presented in partnership with Journeys Festival International and Unicef NextGen London, MIGRATE exhibits new photography exploring global migration by eight international photographers: Alice Aedy • Cyrus Mahboubian • Ellie Kealey • Jack Harries • Tom Skipp • Rhiannon Adam • Vassilis Mathioudakis • Wolf James.
Despite its staggering scale, living in the UK we are largely detached from the ongoing refugee crisis that has swept across continental Europe. This exhibition hopes to encourage dialogue and raise more awareness of the crisis among British people.
