Organised by the Antislavery Partnerships in Southend-on-Sea, Chelmsford and Colchdester. Contributors include Hestia, Hope for Justice, Lived Experience Advisory Panel, Migrant Help and RAMA (Refugee Asylum Seeker and Migrant Action).

The online conference will explore the intersection between migration and modern slavery, including:

  • An introduction to modern slavery in the UK and the intersection between migration and exploitation
  • Case studies and lived experience recommendations
  • Rights and entitlements of survivors of modern slavery, particularly relating to accommodation
  • The Illegal Immigration Act 2023 and Nationality and Borders Act 2022
  • Changes to support for victims through the National Referral Mechanism
  • Q & A with our specialist guest speakers
