Mindful Forest Bathing Walk with Fireside Gathering
Overview
🌿 Sensory Guided Walk based on Forest Bathing principles followed by a gathering around the fire with mulled apple juice 🌿
We'll go for a slow walk up through Bevendean Nature Reserve, with Forest Bathing–style activities to help us connect with nature and ourselves.
Hannah, our guide will offer Forest Bathing techniques to support our connection with nature along the walk.
The walk will last around 1 hour before we head back at sunset for some warming mulled apple juice around the fire.

About this event
Join local forest bathing guide Hannah for a guided sensory walk through the picturesque countryside on Bevendean’s doorstep. Beginning in one of Bevendean’s most beautiful community gardens, we’ll wander into surrounding woodlands and fields, discovering nature through our senses

Children
The event could be suitable for older children, the activties in Forest Bathing are done in silence so we give oursleves the best possible chance to immerse in nature. If you think your child will be happy, and enjoy this, please bring them along. A suggestion would be for 12 years plus.

We will meet in Bevendean Community Garden. Turn left just after the bus stop opposite Bevendean Primary School. Walk a short way and cross over a metal vehicle gate. Turn left and the garden will be ahead of you. Walk into the garden through the gate. There is a compost toilet here.
While we will be moving at a medium - slow pace, please note that our route is likely to include uneven ground and a occasional sharp inclines, and is therefore not suitable for anyone using a wheelchair or with severe mobility issues. Please contact me as soon as possible if you have any concerns about this.

Weather
The event remains enjoyable even with a bit of rain. If we are experiencing torrential downpours, or very high winds the walk will be re-scheduled.

Although no longer funded by Changing Chalk, we have received funding from the Healthy Neighbourhood fund, to continue with Forest Bathing and walking in nature activities.
Our Wild Walks Changing Chalk funded events ran from October 2024 – July 2025, with four guided walks (and community celebration!)designed to be easily accessible for people living in Moulsecoomb and Bevendean.
