Mindful Movement: Pilates Focus
Join us at Earl's Court for a session of mindful movement.
Community Corner is a service run by the NHS aiming to combat social isolation and help people to live well in their communities. We run activities to promote health and wellbeing.
Gentle Pilates Focus: Mindful Movement Session
Tuesday 20th January 2025
10:30am – 12:30pm
Earls Court Health and Wellbeing Hub
This session offers a calm, supportive space to explore the benefits of Pilates and mindful, gentle movement. We’ll begin with a 60-minute guided Pilates-based practice from 10:30am, followed by tea and time to chat, reflect, and connect with others.
The movement will be slow, controlled, and accessible, with a focus on breath, alignment, and body awareness. Mats will be provided - just wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily.
Gentle Pilates is suitable for everyone and is especially helpful for managing the physical and mental demands of everyday life. Through mindful movement and breathing, Pilates can help to:
- Release tension in muscles and joints
- Improve core strength, posture, flexibility, and balance
- Support joint health and mobility
- Calm the nervous system and reduce stress
- Increase body awareness, confidence, and overall wellbeing
Whether you are completely new to Pilates or have some experience, all movements can be adapted to suit your individual needs. This is a safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental session, and you are equally welcome to move gently, rest when needed, or simply focus on your breath.
This is an opportunity to take time for yourself, reconnect with your body, and learn simple, practical movement tools you can use to feel more grounded, supported, and resilient in daily life.
