A wonderful opportunity to step back from the busyness of life, by simply allowing yourself this time to pause to restore your body and mind in the beautiful, tranquil setting of Beechbrae Wood.

Throughout the day you'll be invited to experience various types of mindfulness meditation in the spacious studio, a mindful walk in stunning surroundings, including a contemplative labyrinth walk, and ending with a relaxing soundbath.

This day-retreat offers you the opportunity to step away from the distractions and stresses of daily life.

In this safe and supportive space you can give yourself permission to relax and restore your mental well-being, alongside other like-minded individuals.

A day-retreat can also help to support your own personal growth and self-reflection, giving you more clarity as you move forwards in life.

Schedule

  • 10:30am - welcome and introduction
  • Morning session - includes mindfulness of breath and body meditation and labyrinth walk
  • 12:30-1:15pm - lunch
  • Afternoon session - includes mindful woodland walk and finishing with relaxing soundbath
  • 4:00pm - close

Food

A selection of teas and coffee, water, fruit and snacks are included and will be provided throughout the day. Please bring your own lunch with you to suit your dietary requirements. There are indoor and outdoor breakout spaces available for you to sit and connect with others, or wander during the lunchtime break.


Your Facilitator
Pause to Be was established by Elspeth Lewis in 2019 to share the life-enhancing benefits of mindfulness with others.

Elspeth is a certified Mindfulness Teacher, sound practitioner and author, based in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is also a parent to two teenagers and a lively golden retriever.

Elspeth holds a Mindfulness Teaching qualification in the Mindfulness-Based Living Course (MBLC) with Shamash Alidina's Teach Mindfulness Academy, accredited by the Complementary Medical Association (CMA). She also holds a Level 2 Diploma in Integral Sound Healing with Groups with the Sound Healing Academy.

Elspeth has trained in the mindfulness-based approach of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Training) for adults and adolescents, is a registered member of the CMA, and holds PVG Scheme Membership

Additional Information

Elspeth is delighted to be supported on the day by Tracey Muir of Buddha's Beads and Jewellery who will be sharing a selection of her beautiful gifts and jewellery on the day. Tracey is also very kindly including a small gift for each participant.

As well as creating beautiful crystal pieces, Tracey is also a Reiki Master, and holds diplomas in Crystal Reiki, Crystal Healing, Yoga and much more!

The event is suitable for all, especially beginners to mindfulness, however the soundbath is not suitable for anyone in their first trimester of pregnancy, or those with sound induced epilepsy, unmanaged bipolar or psychosis. Please also advise me if you have any of the following: stent, shunt, pacemaker, metal implant or nerve damage.

Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person.

Elspeth is a certified Mindfulness Teacher, sound practitioner and author, based in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is also a parent to two teenagers and a lively golden retriever. Elspeth recognises the importance of sharing mindfulness with warmth, curiosity and humour.

Following a fulfilling career in HR Resourcing in the construction and energy sectors for 16 years, she experienced a period of quite intense loss, and decided to take time out to focus on family. It was during this time that she discovered the power of mindfulness practice.
