OBJECTIVES
Mindfulness refers to the ability to be fully present. It is a basic human quality that we all possess, but you may need to learn how to access it. When harnessed effectively, mindfulness can reduce overwhelm by allowing us to focus on the here and now; on what is really happening and not on our perceptions of what could happen, or what has happened in the past.
Mindfulness aims to:
- increase self-awareness,
- reduce stress,
- make you better placed to respond to your thoughts and feelings,
- help you cope with difficult feelings or unhelpful thoughts,
- encourage kindness toward yourself.
Work pressures in modern culture can place additional strain on employees. High workloads, competing demands, and frequent distractions, can negatively impact on wellbeing. Mindfulness in the workplace can mitigate these negative effects, whilst enhancing resilience, improving task performance, and encouraging more positive colleague relationships.
In this webinar, Dr Amber Keenan will help the delegate develop a greater awareness of mindfulness. You will gain a greater understanding of how the modern workplace can challenge the ability to be present. You will develop your skills in mindfulness practice, learn how to foster a more mindful work environment, and manage workplace stress. You will be given practice tips and techniques for promoting mindfulness at work; for yourself, your staff, and your wider organisation, to enhance workplace wellbeing.
