This isn't about sitting on cushions. This isn't about listening to whale song and staring at candles while incense stings your eyes... I'm a realistic and down-to-earth person who finds yoga positions hilarious and anything involving lycra to be awkward. What I do believe in, having been a counsellor for some years and a teacher for many more, is the cumulative pain of stress and anxiety in our world today. The media, work, families, politics, money... it could be anything. This Workshop is designed for those who may have heard or know about Mindfulness and want to know more. It's a bit of breathing and focused, guided meditation, taking control of the body and pushing out whatever is going on in our heads, the noise, the clutter and becoming -guess what? Calmer. Not just in your body but in your mind.In an informal and relaxed setting, you can practise the techniques with other like-minded people looking to take back control of the everyday and stop living in clouds of stress and anxiety which so often can lead to illness and physical suffering.
