About this event

On 19th May, we will be walking part of the Viking Coastal trail along sea wall.

Our journey will start from Minnis Bay, sandy beach located near Margate. The route will take us through the stunning fields towards St Nicholas at Wade CP before continuing to Reculver Towers through Rushbourne Sea Wall. Once reaching the Tower, we will stop for our picnic lunch within the grounds, before returning to Minnis Bay along the Northern Sea Wall, following Thanet Coastal Path.
We will be meeting at Minnis Bay Car Park, The Parade, Birchington, CT7 9QP, UK at 09:15 for a 09:30 am prompt start.

**Car Parking Charges are not included.**

The walk will take approximately 5 1/2 hours (around 9.5 miles/15 km), which includes a lunch stop (lunch not included) and will cost £5 per person.

Please let us know if you are running late, otherwise the walk will leave on time.

Meeting time – 9:15am ready for a 09:30am prompt start.
Terrain – mostly flat
Distance – approximately 15 km (9.5 miles)
Walking time – 5.5 hours walking (with lunch break in the middle)

We will be stopping for a picnic lunch at around mid-day at the Towers. There are optional refreshment facilities around Reculver at HatHats coffee shop.

Dogs are welcome as long as they are friendly and will go on a lead when required such as entering fields of livestock.

If we can ask everyone to bring with them:
A - Suitable footwear (strong shoes or boots preferably walking boots no Flip-flops)
B- A waterproof coat (and waterproof trousers?) in case of rain
C - Drinking water and a lunch
D - Personal medication (please make the walk leader aware in confidence of any medical condition you may have that may affect you in the walk no matter how small)
E- Suitable walking clothing

There might only be 'natural' toilets along the way (a bush). There are toilet facilities at Reculver.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU HAVE ANY COVID SYMPTOMS
• We do take pictures on our walks for promotional and training purposes. If you do not wish to be in included, please let us know on the day.


Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made 4 days prior to the event will be given a credit note for a future walk that has to be used within 90 days.
