Missing Maps Glasgow - September Mapathon

The Missing Maps project is an open collaboration that aims to map the most vulnerable places in the developing world, in order that international and local NGOs, and individuals can use the maps and data to better respond to crises affecting the areas.Current members include the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT), Medecins Sans Frontieres, the British Red Cross and the American Red Cross.

The Missing Maps Project

Missing Maps Glasgow returns, this time at The Project Café, on Tuesday 26th September from 6.15pm - 9pm. 
<A HREF="http://theprojectcafe.weebly.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Project Cafe</A> have offered to cater this event, and when you register, you can choose to select a ticket that includes a delicious vegan stew and flat bread, at a cost of £5 payable on the night.
The <A HREF="http://www.missingmaps.org/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Missing Maps</A> project helps Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and and other NGOs by creating maps of the most vulnerable communities, providing a vital resource for their on-the-ground staff as well as local people.
Missing Maps mapathons are open to everyone. You can come and learn how to create maps and contribute to a global mapping project, <A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenStreetMap" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">OpenStreetMap</A>. All you need is a laptop, some spare time and enthusiasm, and you can take part in humanitarian work from Glasgow. 
At our Missing Maps event in Glasgow, volunteers will be on hand to help you learn how to map at your own pace. If you want to know more about how you can prepare for a mapathon, <A HREF="http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Missing_Maps_Mapathons_-_before_the_event" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">this guide</A> gives some tips.
We are being generously hosted by <A HREF="http://theprojectcafe.weebly.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Project Cafe</A>, an amazing community space and social enterprise cafe. We will be at the Cafe from 6.15pm and will be mapping till around 9pm, before we head to the <A HREF="http://www.cca-glasgow.com/saramago-caf/saramago-caf-bar" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CCA/Saramago Bar</A> for post-mapping drinks!
