KCL Geography

Join us for an evening of mapping (and pizza!) for Missing Maps, an event in support of Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF), the Red Cross and the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT), to help improve maps of vulnerable or disaster affected places.
For this mapathon, we will focus on Karonga, a small town in Northern Malawi that suffers from a range of natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods and extreme weather. At present, only the main roads and the basics are mapped - we want to add minor roads and buildings to really put Karonga on the map!

No matter whether you're an experienced Humanitarian Mapper or have never done anything like this before, join the team at KCL Geography (including some mapping pros) to learn more about OpenStreetMap, GIS and Malawi.  
We will do an introduction about how to map and teach you how to edit OSM and work with the HOT Tasking Manager on mapping tasks. 
All you need is a laptop and your enthusiasm. Oh, and if you have one, a mouse!
