Come along on Tuesday 18th September to help us capture Missing Maps information...and receive a FREE CodeBase hotdesking pass worth £10 with every ticket (must be used within 30 days). 
Each year, disasters around the world kill nearly 100,000 and affect or displace 200 million people. Many of the places where these disasters occur are literally 'missing' from any map.  This means first responders often lack the necessary information to make valuable decisions regarding relief efforts.
Missing Maps is a global initiative.  It is an open, collaborative project in which anyone in the world can help digitally capture areas of mapping where humanitarian organisations are trying to meet the needs of vulnerable people.
Join our community of Missing Map volunteers in the Stirling area.  Together, we can create maps for the global good.
This event provides a great learning environment, where local mapping volunteers can socialise, network and learn from the experiences of others.  In volunteering, you will also contribute to the OpenStreetMap data product. 
Globally, there are now in excess of 120,000 mappers involved in capturing and editing OpenStreetMap data. To date, Missing Map volunteers and events, such as the ones hosted by thinkWhere, have seen more than 12 million edits to OpenStreetMap and has put around 7.5 million people on the map.
No experience is necessary - we show you everything you need to know.  All we need from you is your time. All you need is to bring a laptop and mouse if you have one.  Snacks and refreshments will be provided on the night.
