Join MK Community Foundation and their guests to understand more about Philanthropy.

This programme will enhance your own understanding of philanthropy as well as giving you new skills and insights into how Philanthropy sits with Clients. The full programme (which will be delivered online) will involve 5 individual one hour sessions over the next 15 months, all of which will fully qualify for CPD. The programme is delivered free of charge. Simply enrol for the first session to take part in this programme.<h3></h3><h3>Outline of Programme</h3><h3></h3>•	“What does Philanthropy mean to you?” – a structured debate around philanthropy – the term alone means different things to different people. This session will involve an external panel of experts to give a wider context (March 23rd 2022)Panel Experts:Ian Revell, CEO - MK Community FoundationIan has worked for the Community Foundation for over 5 years as the Chief executive. His role is focused on supporting the staff team deliver on their objectives, liaising with the Board of Trustees in providing strategic leadership.Ian works closely with the Strategic Leadership Team of directors and managers, with the Chair of Trustees, with all the trustees individually and in groups and our amazingly engaged President and Vice-Presidents to deliver the organisations strategic plans.Ian prioritises engagement with the amazing diversity of supporters, working with partners and visiting and engaging with the groups the Community Foundation support. He has a major role in supporting philanthropy in Milton Keynes and in the development and growth of the Community Properties the Foundation is custodian of.Ian says: “I really enjoy my job, especially engaging with the many people who deliver amazing, life-changing projects, programmes and services across the borough. I feel it is a real privilege to meet with individual philanthropists, companies and organisation who are doing all they can to bring about change as I see that our focus on Funding fairness is inspiring many more people to get involved in their communities”. Victoria Papworth, Director - Coutts Family OfficeVictoria joined Coutts in 2020 and provides support to UHNW clients around their philanthropy, family wealth succession and next generation education. She brings considerable experience of working as an advisor to clients, charities, social enterprises and Government, most recently having worked for the UK’s largest network of philanthropy-driven foundations. Her priority is helping clients to ensure their significant wealth supports their family values and that they are giving effectively and intelligently to the causes they care about.With an MBA, she also holds certificates in strategic leadership, place-making and business support for small charities and social enterprises. Her pro bono work has included various Trusteeships for local charities, with responsibility for income generation and governance, chairing a judging panel for the Beacon awards for inspirational philanthropy, and as a member of the School for Social Entrepreneurs Match Trading taskforce. Andrew Tuggey, CBE DL- Chair of UKCFAndrew has been Chair of UK Community Foundations since October 2020, and a trustee of Community Foundation Wales since 2018, where he sits on the Grants Committee. He is passionate about UK’s network of 47 community foundations as they work to support and sustain our communities in need. Encouraging and enhancing local philanthropy for local needs is an essential element of every community foundation. UKCF supports the community foundation network, advocating and reaching out at the UK level,Andrew is Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Gwent. A former High Sheriff, he sits on the Council of the High Sheriffs’ Association of England &amp; Wales: High Sheriffs work closely with their community foundations.He is a trustee of National Crimebeat, a former Chair of ScoutsCymru, and holds other voluntary appointments in several Veterans’ and other charities locally and nationally. He also sits on the Advisory Council of the Institute of Commonwealth Studies at London University. Before working with community foundations and after a full military career, Andrew was Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association at the Houses of Parliament.He was awarded the CBE in the Birthday Honours List 2016 for his work with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and the community in South-East Wales.Married to Clare, they have three sons and six grandchildren. Andrew’s interests include bee-keeping, Black Welsh Mountain sheep, choral singing, fishing, sailing, skiing and walking.•	“How does local Philanthropy work in practice?” – presentations from existing philanthropists detailing what they have done and how it helps both them and the local community (June 2022)•	“An overview of the tax benefits and legal aspects for individuals” – presentations by local external tax and legal specialists on the tax benefits of philanthropy available for individuals (September 2022)•	 “An overview of the tax benefits and legal aspects for Companies” – presentations by local external tax and legal specialists on the tax benefits of philanthropy available for Companies (November 2022)•	“Putting it into Practice” – how you can help your Clients with Philanthropy, and how MK Community Foundation can help you. Being able to discuss Philanthropy with Clients in a knowledgeable way can give significant “value add” to your relationships (Date TBC)This programme is intended to be purely educational, to enhance the skills of our local professionals, and to raise the profile of local organisations such as the MK Community Foundation.
