In remembrance of Dr Martin Luther King's birthday on the 15th January, KING DAY is acknowledged globally on the 3rd Monday in January.
From Birmingham, Alabama to Birmingham, England, join us to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr Martin Luther King Jr.
Since January 2010 Inspiring a New Generation hosted KING TRIBUTE SHOWCASE. Due to the Covid pandemic, the last event was held virtually in January 2020 (in association with Blackstory Partnership).
With the current worldwide affairs of war, social, economic injustices, and famine - what would KING say today about the world affairs? What better time to explore and revive the KING TRIBUTE SHOWCASE.
This FREE intergenerational family event will showcase tribute performances by some of Birmingham's finest artists, alongside speeches and presentations by activists who continue to advocate equal rights & social justice, whilst acknowledging Black history, heritage and culture.
The showcase is guaranteed to pay homage to those that paved the way, uplift, inspire and empower all participants and guests.
Alongside the showcase there will be a fundraising call-out in support of Hurricane Melissa Relief Aid, plus a raffle and mini auction of a painting donated by Birmingham's own fine art artist, Mr Colin Gabbidon.
Join us in honouring some of the most inspirational civil rights activists of modern history.
THIS EVENT IS FAMILY FRIENDLY & FREE TO ATTEND - DONT DELAY RESERVING A TICKET!
