Mobility for Disability: in Carnival and Outdoor Arts

Founded in 2005, Festive Road is an inclusive and inventive community arts organisation.With our unique fusion of art and engineering and craft, we aim to bring communities to life; making ‘art’ relevant, participatory and accessible to all; with an emphasis on cohesion, confidence-building, creativity, imagination and cultural celebration.

Are you a disabled artist? Are you a performer with mobility challenges? Are you interested in making outdoor arts more inclusive & accessible for all? 
If yes - this is the event for you!
We are holding a FREE one day Seminar funded by Postcode Community Trust, thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
We welcome people with all disabilities to this very collaborative event. We particularly want to engage people with physical disabilities, not only with our own artistic activities, but with carnival & outdoor arts more generally.
This event also welcomes practitioners who work with disabled people - encouraging them to share their experiences and learn from others.
The aims of the day will be to discover and uncover the inspirations, aspirations, challenges and boundaries to disabled artists and performers, within the context of carnival and outdoor arts; and see how we (Festive Road) can create structures with disability needs in mind in the future.
We also want to find out what we can do to encourage and support disabled artists and performers in their, and our, creative development.
The keynote speaker will be Tanja Erhart from the amazing Candoco Dance Company. Plus there'll be opportunities for:

 discussion and sharing ideas;

puppetry and performance workshops led by Puppeteer, Jo Munton from Vagabondi Theatrical Arts ; 
</LI>
<LI>
design your own cycle powered / hand cranked art structure sessions led by Festive Road's Jessica Rost & Clive Doherty. 
</LI>
</UL>
Lunch and refreshments included.
There are limited places so please book your place soon to avoid disappointment!
If travelling by  train - we are only a 4 mile taxi ride from Milton Keynes Central Railway Station.
