Mock mediation

Join the CIPD branch in West Yorkshire and Consilia Mediation for a mock workplace mediation.

During the course of the event Marie Walsh and Hannah Horner will introduce you to the workplace mediation process as a whole.

You will also be able to watch a live mock workplace mediation where Hannah and Marie will seek to work with the parties with a view to resolving a workplace dispute and agreeing terms upon which the parties can move forward.

Speakers bio:

Marie Walsh - Employment Law Solicitor Leeds | Consilia Legal

Marie is a director, employment lawyer and workplace mediator at Consilia Legal and Consilia Mediation based in Leeds Harrogate and London.

She is 24 years PQE and act on behalf of both employees and businesses in relation to employment law advice and litigation. She also runs the ELIPs scheme nationally for the Employment Lawyers Association which is a scheme whereby unrepresented litigants can access from pro bono advice. She is the ELA representative for Yorkshire and the Humber.

Marie loves workplace mediation and conducts this through Consilia Mediation. Maries view is that mediation can make such a difference to diffuse or resolve disputes in the workplace and avoid escalation of lengthy grievance processes costs and stress for all parties.

Marie has been a member of the NY CIPD committee for around 10 years now and loves working with local branches.

Hannah Horner - Chalyn HR – HR Support and Solutions for Harrogate, York and Leeds

Hannah is an Independent HR Consultant and Workplace Mediator working as an Associate Mediator at Consilia mediation. Hannah’s company is Chalyn HR, and she focuses on supporting organisations to develop workplaces that drive success.

Hannah has over 20 years’ experience in HR supporting up to senior leadership and board level in house and more recently as a consultant, across a wide range of sectors and services.

Having seen the impact that conflict can have in the workplace, Hannah values the positive outcomes that mediation can provide.
