Experience the joy of learning a new talent and indulge in a moment of mindful artistry under the guidance of London-based Irish calligrapher, Marie-Claire in beautiful surroundings at nue ground café. Discover how the simplicity of putting pen to paper, and the slow, soothing movement across the page can bring a sense of calm and quiet. Indulge in some ‘me time’ and create something beautiful. In this two-hour workshop, which will be held upstairs in the event space at nue ground, you can enjoy coffee, tea and breakfast treats. You will be given a modern calligraphy kit including a nib, pen holder, ink pot, workbook as well as guide and practice sheets, specially put together by Marie-Claire. You will learn; the basic tools in your kit and how to set up; the foundations of calligraphy including basic strokes and pressure techniques; and an introduction to the alphabet. Share your joy in the art of calligraphy with others by attending Marie-Claire’s workshop with friends or family, or purchase a ticket as a gift for a close creative pal.
