TOAST

TOAST has invited textile artist Christina Hesford to create a woven installation during this year's London Design Festival.

Christina Hesford is an artist-maker who uses textile processes, such as weaving and knotting to make art objects and wall-based artworks. Her work challenges notions of beauty by using the aesthetics of repair, and symbols of imperfection such as knots. From the traditional to the unorthodox, she uses a wide variety of materials including silk, wool and linen, paper, tree-fibres, decommissioned fire hoses, and polythene sheeting.As part of the Shoreditch Design Triangle, on Wednesday 18th August there will be a drop in session between 5:00pm and 8:30pm, where you will be able to trial techniques and learn more about weaving with Christina. TOAST is a unique lifestyle brand renowned for its thoughtful, contemporary design and commitment to traditional textiles and craftsmanship. Seasonal workshops and gatherings aim to bring together a like minded community and foster creativity.
