Join us for the Scottish premiere of 'The Molendinar', a new work commissioned specifically for the Molendinar Burn Project by Civic Room and Union Chapel. Written and performed by international musician Claire M Singer, the new work for organ and electronics will be performed at Glasgow Cathedral on 14 June 2016, in celebration of the launch of the Molendinar Burn Project.
The Molendinar Burn Project explores the route of the burn as it travels over and under the city of Glasgow, with a series of events, site-specific artworks and activities over the course of the coming year.
This is event is free to attend, and is presented as part of the Festival of Music 2016 at Glasgow Cathedral.
Claire M Singer has been widely commissioned, exhibited and performed throughout Europe and North America. This includes acoustic and electronic composition, fixed media, multi-media, installations and live electronics. In recent years her work has focused on a mix of organ, 'cello and electronics with performances and commissions including Union Chapel; SPNM; Sound Festival; Ladyfest; Tate Modern London; The Shunt Vaults; Chez Poulet Gallery San Francisco; XMV New York City; PRSF; Fylkingen Institute Stockholm; Ceremony Hall Austin, TX; Soundfjord; Norwich Arts Centre, no.w.here, Kunst-Station Sankt Peter Cologne and the Muziekgebouw Aan' t ij Amsterdam.
