Monster Lab: Incarnation One
Monster Lab is a new event series from ¡AU! where we study villains in order to build creative muscle. Presentations at Monster Lab deep into the Theory, Craft, and Business of the world's best (or worst) monster-building. Think of us as MIT for horror fans - a Monster Institute of Technology.
Our debut event, MONSTER LAB: INCARNATION ONE, will be two hours of online discussion with experts working at the cutting edge of monster research. Attendees will get to hear from and talk with with three experienced Monster Hunters:
- Dr. Surekha Davies, author of Humans: A Monstrous History, will tell us about the history of monsterization and how from earliest history, monsters have been created out of the people living in countries not our own.
- Esti Reich, ceramics artist and creator of an entire menagerie of creatures that could be unnerving helpers or cheerful predators, each with their own story.
Conversations will be moderated by ¡AU! founder Neal Romanek and there will be ample time for MONSTER LAB guests to question and interact with our guests.
