Learn more about what life is like as a military child today

Did you know that there are over 12,500 children from armed forces communities living in Scotland?

Open to anyone in the community, come along to learn more and to celebrate the unique experiences of children from armed forces communities.

To book tickets, please click on the blue arrow (Top right) to select the number of tickets you would like and then click on 'Reserve a Spot'. You will then receive an email confirmation.

Our community event includes several zones; wellbeing, information, and games.

Wellbeing Zone

Get involved in scrapbooking, and create mood boards to reflect on positive memories and your plans for the future. All of this is geared to encourage you to think about your own experiences and aims in life, and to reflect on these positively.

We’ll get you thinking positively about everything and anything!

Information Zone

Learn more about how we put experiences of military children at the heart of everything we do, through our projects, services, and campaigns. Play our Forces Life Board Game and read our supporting comic book. Better still, listen to their experiences through our interactive shoeboxes, videos, and much more.

We have lots of leaflets and resources to take away too!

Games Zone

Have some fun through our team-building and problem-solving activities. Each game, some designed by children from this community, is linked to the experiences of military children and designed to help enhance understanding and empathy.

You never know, there may be some prizes up for grabs!

We hope to see you there!

Snacks and cold drinks will be available. A small inclusion area will be provided with sensory bags in case a regulation break is needed. Parents are to remain with their children at all times.

About Forces Children Scotland

We deliver mental health and wellbeing, youth participation, family support, grant-giving, education, and learning and policy services.

We co-develop projects and services directly with beneficiaries to help themselves and 12,500 peers to better understand and overcome unique challenges.

From parental deployment, family separation, financial challenges, and adapting to multiple school moves that serve to disrupt educational attainment, friendships, and routines to caring for a loved one with life-changing physical and psychological wounds, mental health challenges, and much more.

We deliver face-to-face and digital youth forums, residentials, and wider activities to provide life-changing experiences to develop new skills, build confidence, inspire academic aspiration, provide respite from caring responsibilities, and forge new friendships through a sense of belonging, shared experiences, and collective purpose.

We provide financial grants to families when it matters most to overcome challenges concerning the cost-of-living crisis and we help children and young people to dream big and pursue positive futures.
