About this event

Young Women’s Circles

These circles for young women, aged 18 upwards allow opportunity to connect and share our experiences of being young women that is largely missing from our culture. We hope to create a safe and supportive space to speak authentically from our hearts, be vulnerable, learn from one another and be held and heard.

During the evening we will have a sharing circle with prompts that invite topics to talk about, as well as the opportunity to share whatever’s on our hearts and minds. We may also incorporate crafts, activities and different offerings from older women.

The circles will be held by experienced and fully trainined and vetted circle facilitators, but there will also be an option for anyone in the circle who is inspired to do so, to step forward and bring their own ideas and offerings to the group.

We are also considering at some time, holding a joint circle with a group of young men who have already been meeting for some time, where we will share experiences and inquire into how we can feel safer with one another. We will discuss this option with circle participants.

We ask that after the first one, that you commit to a minimum of three circles, please, then we can decide together how we want the circles to continue.

Who is this for?

These young womens circles are for any woman between the aproximate age of 18 and 30.

We believe that sitting in a circle of women of differeing ages and phases of life offers the richness that our souls crave. It allows us to ask important questions of each other, learn and be guided by one another.

What guidance do we yearn for in our younger days that those who have travelled further in their years hold? This is an opportunity to listen and share and grow, both individually and together.

What people say about these circles;

"The idea of revealing myself to people I didn't know was really daunting to me, but then I turned up at my first session and I felt so supported, held and listened to. It's definitely made me become a better listener, to others and myself, and it's made me more understanding—that's hugely impacted my life. I really look forward to the sessions, I love them so much, and leave them feeling refreshed. "

"I have been really struggling before coming here and disconnected and alone, I can’t tell you what a difference this has made to my life, I felt safe and heard and connected."

"Circle makes me feel heard, it's an amazing feeling. If every young person could do it, it would make such a huge impact on people's lives, especially people going through exams and school. Having sessions really grounds me and makes me see what matters—my mental health above than anything else. Having the space to talk about how I'm feeling and the ability to listen to myself, that's how it's changed me."

"I was not sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience and was not expecting it to be so profound. I felt safe amongst mostly strangers which was very welcome. The circle was held in such a way that I felt able to quietly dispel judgement and self doubt and listen more to my heart and allow me to be and feel accepted just as I am. I felt much less alone having taken part. Thank you. Heartfelt thank you"

"I arrived at the venue with some trepidation, not really knowing what to expect, and was immediately put at ease by the welcome. The space is beautiful and peaceful. A fire was made in the circle which felt very comforting."

"In the safe space of the Circle Council, I made it possible to share deep questions and doubts while benefiting from the experiences of others. It creates a strong bond within me to realise that I am asking myself similar questions as the other participants and I find that sharing vulnerability has triggered something very connecting and healing within me. I feel calmer, more relaxed and reminded of a pure form of being."

"Lovely relaxing and calming venue with great people. I found listening and being listened to a somewhat liberating and interesting learning experience. Thank you."
