About this event

  • 3 hours

To get to the car park, go north from Hertford along the A119. Turn right into Vicarage Lane, following it sharp right and then sharp left over the narrow railway bridge. Soon after is a large car park on the left.

The walk is 2.5 miles around this Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust reserve. The wide variety of habitat includes heathland, a lovely section along the River Beane and woodland. There are a couple of short, steep sections.

The event is free but a voluntary donation of £2 per person is suggested.

All welcome, whatever your level of birdwatching knowledge. It will go ahead if it is raining. Call Rob on 07512 704744 for further details.

Please try and car share. If you would like to do that but are not sure who else is attending, feel free to email the organiser, Rob Blythe, on rbblythe@hotmail.com. Give him your phone number, your address, whether you would prefer to drive, be a passenger or either of those, and whether you intend staying for lunch. By doing so, you are giving him permission to pass on your contact details to others attending the event to see whether car sharing is viable.

We might take photos of the event to publicise future events. If you do not wish to appear in them, please let the leader know.

You are welcome to join us for lunch afterwards at the White Lion, 59 Bengeo St, Bengeo, Hertford SG14 3ET. They have a large car park. Food options include paninis at £8 and a range of main meals from £12.50 to £15.
