Mosaic Workshop

Join us for a fun and hands-on mosaic workshop at the Brighton Community Workshop Project! Whether you're a beginner or want to develop your mosaic skills, this is the perfect chance to make something unique with your own hands. All materials provided to make a coaster - and if you would like to make mosaic larger than a coaster, materials are available for a small extra charge.

As a beginner, you will learn how to design a coaster using your choice of colourful mosaic tiles; and how to fix and grout the tiles to create a lasting piece to take home. You can personalise the design with support from Fiona, our workshop leader.

If you have done some mosaic before and want to advance your skills and try some new techniques, then Fiona can guide and support you. You can also bring your own materials or equipment, and get some guidance on how to use them. Fiona has years of experience designing and creating mosaics.

What will happen on the day:

• arrival and introduction to mosaics
• chose your tiles and design your coaster
• glue your tiles (it dries fast, so no long waits)
• grout your item (this takes a bit longer to set, so we'll have a lunchbreak here)
• lunch - there are lots of local places to pick up sandwiches and salads or bring your own food. You can eat at the workshop or stretch your legs and check out Kemptown
• finish your item and pack it up to take home

Be careful - this could be the start of a new hobby! Its easy and fun to do when you understand the process.

This workshop is for adults only. Parking in the area is not so so easy. The toilet is not accessible, it is down a flight of stairs in the basement.
