Join us on Sunday 26 April to see what night time insects we've caught in our humane trap overnight, St Mary's Churchyard Appledore, Devon.

St Mary's Church, Appledore

Moths are important pollinators and a food source for other nocturnal creatures. The types of moths present can indicate whether an ecosystem is healthy. In Appledore churchyard a new meadow area has recently been planted. The new plants are not blooming yet so this is a good chance to see what types of moth are in residence already and will make an interesing comparison later, once there is a greater range of flowers in the habitat.Meet at St Mary's Churchyard, Appledore, for 8am on Sunday 26 April.Wear warm clothes.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------We cannot guarantee a good catch of moths, particularly if weather conidtions are not ideal.If we have to cancel due to very cold or windy weather, we will email.
