Have your ceramic shape ideas transformed from sketches into plaster moulds ready for slip casting?
Celia Dawson is one of our most experienced teachers. Her work explores the interactions of light and surface through ceramic and glass.
The purpose of this workshop is to enable particpants to work with plaster safely, courteously and independently in their practice. As plaster casting is a time intensive and step-based craft form, the emphasis of this workshop is to learn, and not to create a complex personal mould. For this reason it’s recommended to bring an object to mould that is simply shaped, will not break mid-mould and is no larger than a fist. To be safe, bring a few items so you have options on the day.
Please bring in a few things so that the teacher can choose what simple small object best suits the lesson. For example Fruit or vegetables, clay objects are also good as well.
