“It would be helpful if there was greater understanding about how MS can affect people at different stages of life.” - Glesni

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a progressive neurological condition - that means it affects your nerves, and the symptoms gradually get worse over time. You get it when your immune system isn’t working properly. At present there are more than 6,000 people in Wales living with MS. Every year almost 300 people are diagnosed with MS in Wales.

This year MS Awareness Week 2025 will run from 28 April - 4 May and MS Society Cymru would like to invite you to this lunchtime reception to celebrate this year's theme of 'MS conversations'. What's it like to live with MS? What services and research are making a difference in Wales today? What else do we need to be doing? The event will raise awareness of MS and amplify the voices of people living with MS in Wales. We will be joined by people living with MS and stakeholders who will be on hand to speak to you about their experiences living with the condition and the essential work towards ensuring people can live well with MS. We will highlight the work MS Society Cymru is doing in Wales, showcasing new stats and data, and the exciting new treatments that are in the pipeline for both relapsing remitting and progressive forms of MS.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Sut brofiad yw byw gydag MS? Pa wasanaethau ac ymchwil sy'n gwneud gwahaniaeth yng Nghymru heddiw? Beth arall sydd angen i ni ei wneud? Bydd y digwyddiad yn codi ymwybyddiaeth o MS ac yn cynnig llais i bobl sy'n byw gydag MS yng Nghymru. Bydd pobl sy'n byw gydag MS a rhanddeiliaid wrth law i siarad â chi am eu profiadau yn byw gyda'r cyflwr a'r gwaith hanfodol tuag at sicrhau y gall pobl fyw'n dda gydag MS.
