Similar to Open Access Week, the purpose of the Love Data Week (LDW) event is to raise awareness and build a community to engage on topics related to research data management, sharing, preservation, reuse, and library-based research data services. We will share practical tips, resources, and stories to help researchers at any stage in their career use good data practices. Love Data Week is a social media event coordinated by research data specialists, mostly working in academic and research libraries or data archives or centres. We believe research data are the foundation of the scholarly record and crucial for advancing our knowledge of the world around us. If you care about research data, please join us! Maynooth University Library is delighted to be marking this event for the first time with a series of talks by data specialists from on and off campus as well as exhibition stands on the 14th February for the Government's national Open Data Portal and the Building City Dashboards project. So this Valentine's come join us and Love Data!

15:15     Gareth Downey, Belfast City Council  ‘Maximising Belfast business rates revenue through the use of data and Machine Learning’ (15 mins)
15:30     Dr Stephanie Keogh-National Centre for Geocomputation- Workshop (1.5 hours) Visualising your data with maps using free and open software  (participants can bring own laptops, need to download <A HREF="https://qgis.org/en/site/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">QGIS software package</A>), (1.5 hours)
17:00     Dr Stephanie Keogh – National Centre for Geocomputation- Optional Data Clinic - Visualisation of your data (can bring own laptop/dataset) (1 hour)
