Muharram: For Those Finding Their Way Back
A gentle online gathering for those reconnecting with Shi'aism in the sacred month of Muharram.
Whether you were raised Shi'a, identify as Shi'a now, or have drifted from familiar practices and want to explore your way back, this session is for you.
Held during the sacred days of Muharram, this online space offers reflection and a sense of community. Together, we'll explore the meanings of Muharram, grief, love, and resistance. Not as rigid rituals, but as pathways back to ourselves, our traditions and the legacies of Karbala.
Who is this for?
This space is especially for:
- Those raised in Shi'a households, who may (or may not) feel distant from Shi'aism.
- Shi'a Muslims who are reconnecting or reclaiming their spirituality.
- Converts or curious Muslims who resonate with Shi'a teachings.
- LGBTQ+ Shi'a Muslims and others who have felt on the margins of traditional religious spaces.
This event will be interactive, with a presentation, activities and group discussion.
