Temple Prints is focussed on expanding participation witin the arts and provides opportunities open to all for the sharing of specialist knowledge and skills.

Temple Prints

Part of a programme of workshops in conjunction with the exhibition Horizon; an exhibition of new works by artist-printmaker Jamie Temple.
On this workshop you will be given an introduction to lino printing and the techniques and approaches to creating textural multilayered relief prints on paper.
You will gain an insight into the linocut printmaking process with a focus on using multiple layers of textures and colours to create unique prints; much like Jamie’s works shown in the accompanying exhibition. We will begin by looking at exploring examples on display before sketching out ideas, transferring these to blocks of lino, making registration plates, and working with a range of carving tools, papers and oil based inks.
Jamie will give an in depth introduction to the process, showing a selection of his prints on paper and will be on hand throughout to offer individual help and guidance. By the end of the session you will have printed a set of linocuts and learned how you can make your own prints back at home.
