Composing Sacred Music: The Next Generation. In this concluding event of the 2024 Edinburgh Sacred Arts Foundation Music Competition for young Scottish composers, professional musicians directed by Calum Robertson will perform six winning musical compositions. Dame Judith Weir, Master of the King’s Music, and principal adjudicator, will present the prizes. Sponsored by The Christian Arts Trust, the Edinburgh Society of Organists and the Royal College of Organists.

Between Sunday 11th and Saturday 17th August 2024, seven Edinburgh city centre churches will host a wide range of events in music, poetry, visual art, architecture, dance and film. Highlights include sacred jazz at St Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, poetry in Canongate Kirk, guided tours with Scotland’s Church Trust, dance at Old Saint Paul’s, film at St Vincent’s Chapel, and vespers at Sacred Heart.
