The Lord is my Sheperd: Sacred song of the English musical renaissance. A performance of Benjamin Britten’s stunning Abraham and Isaac, plus three rarely performed Vaughan Williams songs and short works by Quilter and Howells. International tenor Sam Madden is accompanied by Will Sims on piano (director of chapel music at Robinson College, Cambridge). They are joined by Felix Schneideman (countertenor at St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral) for Abraham and Isaac.

Between Sunday 11th and Saturday 17th August 2024, seven Edinburgh city centre churches will host a wide range of events in music, poetry, visual art, architecture, dance and film. Highlights include sacred jazz at St Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, poetry in Canongate Kirk, guided tours with Scotland’s Church Trust, dance at Old Saint Paul’s, film at St Vincent’s Chapel, and vespers at Sacred Heart.
