Welcome to the LSE PhD Academy Eventbrite page.  We host a varied menu of events for LSE doctoral students which range from advanced methodology training and interdisciplinary workshops to professional development events and writing groups.Our programme changes throughout the year but advance details of what is on offer can always be found on the Event and Courses section of thePhD Academy webpages.  This has the complete list of our events, some will require you to use different booking systems for different events.  We are currently in the process of reviewing our booking systems and hope to make it more streamline in the future.The PhD Academy is based on the 4th floor of the Lionel Robbins building where we have a teaching room, common room and office space.  We look forward to meeting you and welcome your feedback, either in person or you can contact us by email at phdacademy@lse.ac.uk or by telephone on 020 7955 6607.

LSE PhD Academy

In this session we are offering you the opportunity to find out more about getting your doctoral thesis published in book format. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to attend, especially those from social sciences, political sciences and humanities.
Sharla Plant, Senior Commissioning Editor in ‘Science and Society’ for Palgrave Macmillan will share her knowledge and experience. Sharla has a rich history in the publishing industry, having fostered a career working for very reputable publishing houses that specialise in academic publishing, and so is best placed to field a variety of questions.
Sharla will begin the session at 11 a.m. with a presentation which will be followed by a Q&A session. Please come prepared with any queries you may have to contribute to this lively and interactive session. 
A sandwich lunch will be provided after the session, giving you the opportunity to ask any further questions you may have. The workshop will conclude at 1 p.m.
