Mycelium Fabrication Workshop

Mycelium Fabrication Workshop

Overview

Exploring mycelium as a living material for design and art applications.

This hands-on class will introduce you to the full spectrum of cultivating and designing with mycelium—from the basics of growth to creative fabrication.

In this workshop we will be discovering a range of different methods for sculpting mycelium and participants will leave with their own mycelium sculpture or starter to finish growing at home. You will learn how to design bespoke moulds for fungi from soft sculpting, to 3D printed moulds, to silicon, to packing techniques.

This course is ideal for artists, designers, scientists, gardeners, and anyone curious about working with living systems. By the end, you will have both practical cultivation skills and a hands-on project that demonstrates the creative possibilities of mycelium.

This workshop is offered on three separate dates. Each session is identical in content and format, choose the one that fits your schedule!
