Narrating Nausea: a creative writing workshop
A creative writing workshop exploring states of feeling in pregnancy.
This creative writing workshop is part of the 'Morning Sickness' and the Medical Humanities research project led by Sophie Jones, literary studies researcher and author of The Reproductive Politics of American Literature and Film, and Sarah Bernstein, researcher and author of Study for Obedience. The project is funded by the University of Strathclyde's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
No experience of creative writing is required. The workshop is free and open to the public but places are limited, so reservation is mandatory. Limited funds are available to support travel and accommodation to the workshop; please give details on the application form if you would like to apply for these funds.
Following the workshop, participants may have the opportunity to submit to a zine exploring pregnancy sickness.
The creative writing workshop will be preceded by an afternoon research seminar on pregnancy sickness and the medical humanities. This runs from 12:00-4:30pm on Monday June 8th. Registration for the seminar is separate from the creative writing workshop. If you would like to attend the research seminar, please email sophie.jones@strath.ac.uk
