Across the 2 days, we will dive into how to manage - by using APIs - Cisco's Digital Network Architecture (DNA)

<h1>What's a DevNet Express event? </h1><p>It's a focused event where you listen, learn, and put it into practice. This one's for Network Engineers, Network Architects, DevOps Engineers and SSIs and it's all about using APIs to help you manage and program your network.</p><h1>What's the format of the event?</h1><p>You'll listen and learn from trainers, and then get hands-on with the technology, complete some interactive Missions (with proctors to help you) and get rewarded for your hard work!</p><h1>What will be covered over the 2 days?
</h1><p>Please note that not all of the areas mentioned below may be covered in your specific DevNet Express.

</p><p>Day 1
</p><p>The first thing we'll do is to set up your dCloud pod. If you're planning on using your own development environment at the DevNet Express, please read the pre-reqs section of this site to ensure you're fully set-up before you get there. 
</p><p>
Then we'll start focusing on managing the network’s Cisco Digital Network Architecture (DNA): the building blocks of a well-managed network. 
</p><p>
The rest of the day will be spent on getting you up-to-speed on Python and Programming basics together with REST APIs.
</p><p>Day 2
</p><p>By day 2 you'll have enough programming knowledge to start diving into how to manage - by using APIs - the network’s Cisco Digital Network Architecture (DNA): the building blocks of a well-managed network.  
</p><p>

</p><p>As you know, your network is built on network devices (routers, switches etc), and those devices can be physical or virtual.  Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) need to run on a platform such as Cisco NFVIS.  And whether your network devices are virtual or physical, they need to be managed. 

</p><h3>Device Management and Network Automation
</h3><p>You can manage your devices in two ways:
</p><p>• through a network controller leveraging Cisco DNA Center APIs and Meraki APIs.
</p><p>• directly at the device level using Model Driven Programmability options for interfacing directly with APIs such as NETCONF and RESTCONF
</p><p>Also, configuration management solutions like Ansible and Puppet are becoming popular for network automation.
</p><h3>Cloud Service Management
</h3><p>And if you’re interested in gaining the intelligence of the network to better-understand patterns by correlating users, applications and device data, there are 2 options: using the location-based services aspects of CMX and Meraki.
</p><p>
Plus, let's not forget that network devices provide powerful edge computing options for developers. Guest Shell, for example, is a quick and easy way to get started running Linux applications and Python scripts directly on your network devices.
</p><p>You'll also get to touch Cisco Webex Teams as a communication tool.</p><p></p>
