About National Lottery Project Grants Advice Workshop – Theatre

This new workshop is aimed at those wishing to apply to National Lottery Project Grants who have not previously received funding from Arts Council England.

This one-hour, online group advice workshop will explore how to turn project ideas into strong applications for National Lottery Project Grants.

We are currently piloting these workshops in order to help people to feel more confident making a strong application. We’d love to understand from you and others whether this new offer of support is useful.

What will happen in the workshop

  • Theatre Relationship Managers will give general advice, tips and answer questions.
  • There will be facilitated smaller group discussions in breakout rooms. Theatre Relationship Managers will ask participants to briefly introduce themselves and ask any specific questions they have.
  • Feedback at the end of the workshop will be crucial to help us improve as we are in a pilot phase.

Sign-up details

  • In order to have as much time as possible for discussion, places in the workshop are limited. We intend to run monthly workshops throughout the year.
  • While we are releasing workshops in blocks of three, please only attend one.
  • When you sign-up for the workshop, we will request some further information in order to tailor the workshop to those attending. You will be able to submit any specific questions you have, which we will do our best to answer in the workshop.
  • If, after you’ve signed up, you discover you can no longer make the workshop, please do let us know so we can give your place to someone else. We will be operating a waiting list.

Ahead of the workshop

There are a range of useful resources on the Arts Council England website, please familiarise yourself with the ‘Guidance for Applicants - £30,000 and Under’ ahead of time, so we can spend the workshop focussed on in-depth discussion.

Accessibility

  • All sessions will have live speech to text.
  • If you have other access requirements, for example, you require a BSL interpreter, please make this clear when you complete the sign-up questions.
  • If you’re unable to access the information on this page or register for the event using Eventbrite, please get in touch via this link or email theatre.assistants@artscouncil.org.uk

Arts Council England is the national development agency for creativity and culture. We have set out our strategic vision in Let’s Create that by 2030 we want England to be a country in which the creativity of each of us is valued and given the chance to flourish and where everyone of us has access to a remarkable range of high-quality cultural experiences. From 2023 to 2026 we will invest over £440 million of public money from Government and an estimated £93 million from The National Lottery each year to help support the sector and to deliver this vision. www.artscouncil.org.uk

Following the Covid-19 crisis, the Arts Council developed a £160 million Emergency Response Package, with nearly 90% coming from the National Lottery, for organisations and individuals needing support. We are also one of the bodies responsible for administering the Government’s unprecedented Culture Recovery Fund of which we delivered over £1 billion to the sector in grants and loans.
