Nicola McLelland, Solicitor, CLAO
The Civil Legal Assistance Office "CLAO" is a network of four offices in Scotland that helps people with specific civil legal problems. The offices cover Edinburgh and Lothian, Highlands and Islands, Argyll and Bute, Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Nicola McLelland is a solicitor with the Inverness office and has been with CLAO since 2023. The Inverness team provides assistance in a range of legal areas, including child and family law, housing, mental health, and public law.
Nicola has been a practising solicitor since 2011. Before joining CLAO, she worked extensively in nationality, immigration, asylum, and human rights law, with a particular focus on representing victims of human trafficking. She also spent time as an in-house solicitor with a local authority, gaining experience across a broad range of legal matters.
Nicola currently manages a diverse civil caseload, with a particular interest in cases where civil and criminal legal issues intersect.
